PhD Students will be asked to do a dissertation project compulsorily. Students are required to make a thorough research about a particular topic and to write a detailed report about their research if they have to do a successful dissertation project. In order to do a dissertation project efficiently, students must understand the significance and procedure of doing the project. The major steps for doing such project are as follows:

• Selecting the dissertation topic – The first and foremost step to start a dissertation project is to select the right dissertation topic. While deciding the dissertation topic, students can give importance to a dissertation topic related to their course subject or a topic related to their interest.
• Researching the topic – Students should then start researching the topic with proper plan. 
• Planning an outline for the dissertation – Students should then plan the dissertation outline or sketch for the project. 
• Writing the dissertation – The last step of the project is to write down the dissertation. Students must essentially know how to write a dissertation effectively. They can refer to professor’s guidelines and some sample dissertations to get an idea.

Dissertation project is of importance to any student doing his/her PhD course. The excellence of a project will determine the failure or success of the student’s course. Therefore, students should build deep knowledge about how to do their dissertation projects effectively and successfully.
