Writing Literature Review: Summarize, Analyze, and Discuss
Literature is the part of our everyday life. Literature is the art of describing events with help of words that seem to become alive in the hands of a writer.
The literature review writing is an important process. The literature review writing is not a process of summarizing a book or an article. The literature review writing involves some critical appraisal of the book, whereas, critic review does not have to be negative.
The literature review writing is the discussion of the book including evaluation of the author’s work and his contribution into solving of the problem. Thus, we can form a specific structure in order to fulfill the literature review writing more interesting and understandable.
Thereby, the first issue for discussion in the course of literature review writing is the author of the book. His contribution, relevance of his contribution, and the significance of the topic are of the same importance.
The problem raised by the author should be analyzed from the point of view of effectiveness of presentation and the perspectives for the discussion of this problem. The literature review writing should develop and discuss a range of problems and conflicts raised in the book. You should ask some questions and answer them respectively.
- What are the main characters? What are they introduced for?
- What are the minor characters? What are they introduced for?
- What are the relations between characters?
- What conflict is represented in the book (poem, chapter)?
- Is the conflict represented on psychological/emotional/physical level?
- How is the problem discussed?
These and a great number of other different questions are to be raised and answered in order to create good literature review writing. The literature review writing has to contain discussion of basic and less important issues.
