After you have completed at least four semesters at university or college, you already have different drafts of your past course works on the computer or shelf. Wise students organize these materials and never throw them away (at least, until the last day of studies). Why is it a smart decision? Because every time these students get a new assignment, they review their past course works looking for some useful information there.
Past coursework- and its future benefits
If you have been working on the coursework for many weeks, you will not want to throw it away. After some time this past coursework draft will remind you of the efforts you have put into writing it. But your past coursework is much more than an evidence of your work; this is the basis for your future researches. Imagine, if your next coursework’s topic will be closely related to the issue of the past coursework- you will save your time by just including your previous research and broadening it a little bit.
Tips on how to use your past courseworks in the most effective way:
- Your new coursework’s topic should be at least somehow connected to one or more subjects of the past courseworks.
- It should be easy to access the database of your past courseworks, so after the completion of each new coursework you should save it properly (create a folder with your past course works and keep filling it up).
- Copy/pasting the text from your past coursework is not enough to make your new one stand out. It may be necessary to analyze your previous findings adopting them to the new issue.
- Past course works may not meet the requirements of your teacher, so the new piece of writing is most likely to have a new format, structure and contents.
Past course works is not a pile of papers somewhere on the shelf, but this is a database of what you have learnt. If you devote some of your time to reviewing these materials, you will be proud of yourself and you will realize how much you have written and learnt during these years.
