Term paper format is some obligatory requirements that a student should follow while writing this assignment and, actually, all the other kinds of academic writings.
One should understand that a term paper format is not just some boring rules. A term paper format is a reflection of your attitude to the subject and your tutor, first of all. If you hand in a term paper, which is organized anyhow, it means you do not respect the person who is going to check your work. And, actually, you do not respect yourself. Thus, do not be lazy and organize your work properly, according to the required term paper format.
Now, let us consider some basic points of a term paper format.
- Title page. Sometimes, the title page is not necessary for a term paper. However, if your tutor prefers to see the title page, you should better find out all the requirements for it. Usually it appears like that:
- Nuclear Weapons in the Bi-Polar System (title of your work)
- BMW 34A2-02 (code of the course)
- Mr. B. Gates (name of your tutor)
- Mary Black (your name)
- 11 April 2008 (date of your term paper submission)
- Pagination. The number of pages should appear in the upper right corner. It should be just a number.
Wrong pagination: Page 1; P.1; Pg.1; 1.
Correct pagination: Put just a number of the page – 1 - Spaces between the lines. No matter whether your work is written or typed, any term paper format requires double spaces between the lines.
- Spaces between the words. Usually, you have to use one space between the words. However, you can find a term paper format that allows using two spaces after the sentences if a period, question or exclamation mark appears at the end of a sentence.
So, these are the basic requirements for a term paper format. To find additional information, you can consult some special manuals. Yet, you should remember that the requirements for a term paper format may vary according to the preferences of your tutor.
